May 1, 2014: The highly-acclaimed Isuzu D-Max has collected yet another award, this time from Trade Van Driver magazine. It was crowned ‘Best 4x4 Trade Pick-Up’ at the publication’s third annual awards, announced today.

This is the second accolade that the pick-up has collected in as many months, following the VansA2Z.com ‘Pick-Up of the Year’ title that the D-Max collected for a second consecutive year.

The expert judging panel concluded that the D-Max is unmatched in meeting the needs of the professional user. Matthew Eisenegger, Editor at Trade Van Driver, commented: “Its solid, no-nonsense approach, we feel, just can’t be beaten for those who need a real tough workhorse.”

Isuzu UK General Manager, William Brown, collected the trophy on behalf of the brand at the 2014 Commercial Vehicle Show, held at the NEC, Birmingham. “The D-Max continues to defy expectations and new-vehicle lifecycle trends by continually increasing sales – both to business and retail, underlining the pick-up’s popularity and class-leading capabilities,” said Brown.

“Isuzu built its reputation in the trade sector for building tough pick-ups that meet the varied day-to-day needs of commercial users and this award confirms that we continue to meet this brief. The introduction of the special edition Blade model further broadens the appeal of the D-Max and means we now boast one of the widest pick-up ranges available to UK customers.”

Published six times a year, Trade Van Driver is the only publication dedicated to profiling 'transport solutions for the trade professional', with a specific focus on small business users. The 11 Trade Van Driver award categories, conceived to recognise manufacturers that offer the very best products and services to trade van buyers, are judged by an expert panel made up of journalists and readers who rely on light commercial vehicles for their businesses.

Isuzu posted record single-month sales in March 2014, delivering 950 new vehicles to UK customers, representing a 15.3% increase on the same month last year. A total of 1,322 D-Max pick-ups were sold in the first quarter of 2014.

The Isuzu D-Max is available in three body styles – single, extended and double cab – with prices starting from £14,749 (CVOTR) for the entry-level single cab 4x2 rising to £23,649 (CVOTR) for the range-topping Isuzu D-Max Utah Auto. The Isuzu D-Max is fitted with a super-efficient 2.5-litre twin-turbo diesel engine, producing 163 PS and 400 Nm of torque, is able to tow a class-leading 3.5-tonnes (braked) while still returning fuel economy of 38.2 mpg (combined), and is available with a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission.

Every Isuzu D-Max sold in the UK comes with the company’s pioneering five-year / 125,000-mile warranty, as standard.
