Ford's Transit Wins UK Van Award

Ford’s Transit has been named TheVanWebsite.co.uk’s Van of the Year 2014.

May 1, 2014: The blue oval’s ever-reliable workhorse was chosen by users of the one-stop shop commercial vehicle website and TheVanWebsite.co.uk’s editorial team as the best van of the past 12 months, ahead of the likes of Nissan’s NV200 and the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.

Launched this spring, the new two-tonne Transit boasts class-leading fuel efficiency and cargo capacity, a completely restyled interior, and remains tougher than ever.

Cargo space has been improved by 11% over the previous model, with new storage features ensuring easier and more secure load carrying.

Available in three different lengths and two roof heights, the Transit is capable of shifting payloads up to 4.7 tonnes and towing up 3.5 tonnes.

There’s best-in-class fuel efficiency across the engine range too with the most frugal model – the 125PS 2.2-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel – reporting 44mpg combined and emitting 169g/km CO2, an improvement of 6% over the outgoing equivalent.

An all-new cabin is more spacious with more shoulder and head room than before, as well as greater driver visibility.

The multi-talented Transit also leads the way for non-scheduled maintenance times with the time required for some repairs halved. Potential for pumping the wrong fuel is erased too with Ford’s Easy Fuel system coming as standard.
