FISITA 2014 World Automotive Congress conference

fisa

The 35th FISITA World Automotive Congress will bring together experts and engineers from the leading automakers, suppliers and technology companies along with the academic and research communities to address Intelligent transport to solve our future mobility, safety and environmental challenges.

From 2-6 June 2014, an Executive Track will run alongside the Congress programme to bring together the very best papers from each of the ten Congress topics. The theme of Automotive Human Factors will feature a session with a keynote address given by Prof. Dr.phil. Klaus Bengler of TU München.

Prof. Dr.phil. Bengler said, “Much of the automotive period in the last 125 years is characterised by the fact that the driver must manage the driving task for the most part alone and may delegate sub-tasks only for a short time. The potential automation or partial automation of driving is not only more of the same but a radical qualitative and quantitative change in the paradigm of individual mobility, provoking many questions in the area of human factors research and human-vehicle interaction.”

The Executive Track keynote will be followed by two outstanding presentations from:

Mr. Takeshi Enya, DENSO Corporation, Japan Relationship between Driver’s Attention and Micro-Saccadic Eye Movements Mr. Magnus Helmbrecht, Technische Universität München, Germany Identifying Types of Driver in Electric and Conventional Vehicles

Alongside the Executive Track as part of the wider Congress, delegates from across the world will convene to learn about Automotive Human Factors such as research and analysis methods, designs for safety, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, electric vehicles and the design and analysis of in-vehicle comfort. A total of 39 presentations are scheduled to be given by international speakers on the topic of Automotive Human Factors, chaired by Dr. Jacques Terken of Eindhoven University of Technology and Ing. Girampiero Brusaglino of Technical Association of Automobile.

The FISITA 2014 technical programme will see international experts explore radically new vehicle architectures and innovative vehicle concepts with alternative drives, as well as future commercial vehicle architectures, novel aerodynamics concepts and field operational tests with electric vehicles, amongst other subtopics, over the three days of the Congress.
