Automotive Legends to Star in 2nd Annual Carroll Shelby Tribute and Car Show Panel

GARDENA, CA--May 14, 2014: Carroll Shelby International, Inc., the Carroll Shelby Foundation, Carroll Shelby Licensing, Inc., and Shelby American, Inc., will host stars including Bob Bondurant, Lynn Park, C. Van Tune, Lucas Foster and A.J. Baime in panel discussions during the second annual Carroll Shelby Tribute and Car Show on Saturday, May 17, 2014. The single day event will take place at the new home of the Shelby Automotive Museum at 19021 S. Figueroa St., Gardena, Calif. The event will feature a Ford and Shelby car show, including the 50th Anniversary FIA Cobra and the original Shelby Daytona Coupe that brought the United States a Le Mans victory in 1964. The tribute will benefit the Foundation and new museum.

“It’s great to see this growing event become part of that Shelby legacy. This is an opportunity for our fans to share stories with iconic guest panelists at the new Carroll Shelby Museum. We’re looking forward to bringing Shelby history to life.”

The “Shelby in Books and Movies” panel will discuss how Shelby vehicles and their mythology have left their marks in pop culture. The “Racing with Shelby” panel will feature winning American automotive racers and team members sharing their stories. Both will be emceed by Los Angeles TV personality Dave Kunz.

“Shelby’s history is full of game-changing milestones,” said Neil Cummings, co-CEO of Carroll Shelby International, Inc. and a trustee for the Carroll Shelby Foundation. “It’s great to see this growing event become part of that Shelby legacy. This is an opportunity for our fans to share stories with iconic guest panelists at the new Carroll Shelby Museum. We’re looking forward to bringing Shelby history to life.”

Some of the panelists include Bob Bondurant, factory team driver who won Le Mans in 1964 with the Shelby Daytona Coupe; A.J. Baime, journalist and author of “Go Like Hell”; Lucas Foster, film producer; Lynn Park, avid Cobra collector and close friend of Carroll Shelby; and Aaron Shelby, Carroll Shelby’s grandson. The first panel discussion will start at 12:45 p.m. followed by another panel at 1:45 p.m.

“The fans will love the stories of these legends of American automotive history,” said Jenni Shreeves, Director of the Carroll Shelby Foundation. “Between the pop culture panel and the racing one, the public can see the extent of Carroll Shelby’s impact on history.”
