LONDON - May 20, 2014: Citroën was presented with two prestigious awards at this year’s Fleet World Honours ceremony in London earlier today. Taking its first UK award, the innovative New Citroën C4 Cactus claimed the 2014 ‘Design of the Year’ award and the New Citroën C4 Picasso range was named ‘Best MPV’.

The Citroën C4 Cactus, with its all-new Airbump® technology, will bring UK customers more design, greater comfort and more useful technology when it goes on sale in October. The Citroën C4 Cactus will also offer reduced cost of ownership, with fuel economy of up to 91.1mpg and CO2 emissions from just 82g/km.

Naming the New Citroën C4 Cactus as Design of the Year, Fleet World Honours judge, Steve Moody, commented; “Innovative, quirky, original, stylish and brilliantly practical, the New Citroën C4 Cactus makes us rethink the approach of cars for urban living with its use of space, simple design and replaceable Airbump® panels. This is Citroën really getting its mojo back and for fleets the Citroën C4 Cactus could well be the one car your drivers will be nagging you for in the next year.”

Citroën’s recently launched C4 Picasso range has already been recognised with a number of accolades for its advanced design and efficient use of space. Key to its reduced weight and space-efficiency is the new EMP2 platform, which also plays a major part in the C4 Picasso’s exceptional economy and low emissions. Available in 5-seat C4 Picasso and 7-seat Grand C4 Picasso formats, these cars reflect Citroën’s design philosophy in creating stylish, efficient and comfortable vehicles.

Fleet World editor, Steve Moody, commented; “Citroën gets MPVs better than any other manufacturer and the New C4 Picasso is evidence of this. Clever little touches such as double rear mirrors and seats that tumble in seconds help out stressed parents, while rear passengers have a light and airy cabin in which to sit. With a strong range of engines the Citroën C4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso are the best choices in this sector.”

Martin Hamill, Citroën’s Director of Fleet & Used Vehicles, said; “Both the C4 Picasso and Citroën C4 Cactus reflect Citroën’s advanced design philosophy. Everyone here at Citroën UK is delighted that our innovative, stylish and practical engineering has been recognised with these two prestigious Fleet World Honours.”
