May 29, 2014: Venga wins Small MPV category All Kias in the survey improve their positions over 2013 Kia finishes 9th equal out of 26 manufacturers

The Kia Venga has been named ‘Best Small MPV’ in the 2014 What Car? JD Power owner satisfaction survey results out today. Kia’s B-segment MPV was placed 16th equal in the overall survey results, up from 32nd equal in 2013.

Commenting on why the Venga took the win, Jim Holder, What Car? Editor, said: "The Kia Venga was rated for its spacious cabin, easy access, flexible seating options as well its driveability and visibility, all equally important for a small MPV. The survey also highlighted positive dealer experiences.”

In addition to Venga taking its category win, Kia itself rose up through the overall manufacturer rankings to 9th equal – ahead of some notable premium brands and up from 15th in 2013 – whilst all Kia models included in the 2014 survey improved their positions compared to last year’s survey.

Kia’s best-selling model in the UK – the Sportage crossover – finished in 11th (up from 13th in 2013) and was praised for its excellent reliability, being above average in all areas and having reasonable running costs. The cee’d family car finished in 29th equal (up from 32nd equal) and the Picanto city car finished in 68th (up from 96th).

Commenting on Kia’s performance, Paul Philpott, President & CEO, Kia Motors UK said: “It’s great to hear that Venga owners are not only pleased with their small MPVs but with our dealers too, and encouraging to see every Kia surveyed improve its position in this year’s results.

“With significant investments being made by our dealer network, our great value Care-3 all-inclusive servicing plans and, of course, our industry leading seven year warranty we aim to continue providing ‘Family Like Care’ to customers across the country” added Philpott.

The JD Power survey took place between January and March 2014, using cars registered between January 2011 and December 2012. Only models with more than 4000 sales were considered – 109 were surveyed in total.
