Luton--June 11, 2014: : Since achieving the prestigious Investors in People Standard across all UK sites in July 2012, Vauxhall Motors has furthered its success and recently achieved the gold award, demonstrating true commitment to its employees as well as a solid foundation of excellent practice across the organisation.

Phil Millward, Human Resources Director, Vauxhall Motors, said: “Since achieving the Investors in People Standard across all sites back in 2012, I made it Vauxhall’s aim to achieve the gold award. I am delighted that this year Vauxhall has achieved the highest award and been recognised for its ongoing efforts as a high performing organisation. The award recognises our objective to be a workplace of choice for all employees and our strong and constant focus on the people.”

Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People, said: “Congratulations to Vauxhall Motors on its fantastic gold standard. Such a high level of accreditation is the sign of great people management practice, and the organisation should be extremely proud of its achievement. Vauxhall Motors’ internal celebration event this June also demonstrates its strong commitment to its people and recognising success.”

Vauxhall Motors has been manufacturing motor vehicles in the UK continuously since 1903. Vauxhall’s range spans all mainstream sectors of the vehicle market with best-selling model names such as Corsa, Astra, Meriva, Zafira and Insignia regularly in the top ten of the sales charts. The company employs around 3,500 people in the UK and exports three quarters of its production. It is headquartered in Luton, Bedfordshire where it also manufactures the Vivaro light commercial vehicle. A second plant at Ellesmere Port in Cheshire produces the Astra.

Vauxhall Motors recently joined over 25,000 other organisations working with Investors in People across the UK and can now display the sought-after Investors in People logo and enjoy the benefits of working with the Framework.
