Natural Gas Bi-Fuel Systems for Diesel Engines Granted CARB Certification

SACRAMENTO, CA==June 12, 2014: The California Air Resources Board (CARB) announced that the Altronic GTI Bi-FuelŪ product line has received aftermarket certification from CARB for use on off-road compression ignition engines in stationary applications.

The Altronic GTI Bi-FuelŪ system is designed to allow diesel engines to operate on a blend of diesel and clean burning natural gas. By substituting up to 70% diesel fuel with cleaner burning natural gas, operators are seeing a reduction in their diesel fuel cost of over 50%. Diesel 2 Gas systems extend run times, reduce the volumes of on-site fuel storage and are suited for most major high horsepower engines. Diesel 2 Gas systems are designed as direct bolt-on components for existing engines and do not require any engine component replacement.

Diesel 2 Gas conversions require only a few days for installation so operators can begin seeing the benefits immediately. Drill rig operators running on diesel generators are reporting fuel savings as much as $100,000 monthly per rig or $1.2 million annually.
