MARKHAM, ONTARIO -- September 3, 2014: Combined August sales of 15,524 units by the Honda and Acura divisions of Honda Canada Inc. represented a 4% decrease versus last year’s sales. The Honda Automobile Division reported August sales of 14,063 units, down 3% versus last year. The Acura Division reported August sales of 1,461 units, down 12% versus last year.

“Our exceptional sales in June and July meant dealer inventories of key 2014 models were poor, making it impossible to match last year's strong August results”

"Our exceptional sales in June and July meant dealer inventories of key 2014 models were poor, making it impossible to match last year's strong August results,” said Dave Gardner, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Honda Canada Inc. "We are looking forward to September, as the all-new TLX sport sedan began arriving at our Acura dealer's showrooms late last month and we have already seen a great market response to the vehicle. With its combination of two distinctive powertrain options and its dynamic capability, we are confident the TLX is an impressive addition to Acura's sedan line-up.”

“On the Honda side of our business, we're equally excited with the introduction of the all-new, highly versatile, innovative and fun-to-drive 2015 Honda Fit, which will hit dealer showrooms later this month. With these great new products added to our award winning Honda and Acura line-ups, we look forward to strong results for the remainder of 2014,” added Gardner.
