LOS ANGELES -- Sept. 8, 2014: Through a new alliance between ADEPT Driver and Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy, students of the Los Angeles-based academy will now benefit from the scientifically proven teenSMART crash reduction program. The teenSMART program was created by ADEPT Driver, a California company that uses scientific methods to develop crash reduction programs that are proven to be effective. The Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy now includes teenSMART's curriculum and practice techniques in their academy's driver education and training programs.

"At Mercedes-Benz, we always strive to offer the very best to our clients, in quality, in safety, and in innovation," said Carolyn Duchene, Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy Director. "That is why we have incorporated teenSMART's state-of-the-art crash reduction program in the Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy training. With the proven science of teenSMART added to our program portfolio, our Driving Academy will offer the most tested and effective approach to teach young drivers to avoid crashes and enjoy safe driving."

Based upon comprehensive research, teenSMART targets the six behavioral and social factors that cause more than 90% of all teen collisions. teenSMART has been rigorously evaluated by leading insurance companies, and has been found to significantly reduce teen crash frequency and severity. In 2012, The National Safety Council awarded the Teen Driving Safety Leadership Award to ADEPT Driver for its teenSMART crash reduction program.

Many leading insurance companies offer discounts for teenSMART completion due to the program's proven crash reduction, including: Allstate; Liberty Mutual; CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA insurer; and Mapfre.

"Quality driver education and training for teen drivers is vitally important," said Dr. Richard Harkness, a neurocognitive psychologist and CEO of ADEPT Driver. "Using science to improve drivers' crash avoidance skills has been our focus for two decades. Studies conducted this year on our recently-released update of teenSMART show that teen drivers who use the program make significant gains in visual awareness, hazard detection, judging safe gaps, identifying safe escape routes, assessing risk and anticipating trouble when driving. Mercedes-Benz is a leader in auto safety and quality. We are thrilled to offer our proven crash-reduction program to young drivers at Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy."

Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy is a DMV-Certified Teen Driving School offering driver education and training programs throughout Los Angeles and Orange County, California. The Academy also offers customized drivers training for students of all ages looking to hone their skills behind the wheel.

In addition to being offered through the Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy, the teenSMART program can be purchased directly and used on a home computer anywhere in the United States to improve teen driver safety and crash avoidance skills. Visit Teen Smart Driving to test drive the teenSMART program.
