AUTO CENTRAL, UK -- Sept. 15, 2014: Singer-songwriter Gregory Porter performed a surprise gig at The Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, West Sussex Unparalleled acoustics of Rolls-Royce Wraith provided the perfect backdrop for pop-up performance Grammy winning musician headlines iTunes festival on 17 September Grammy Award winning artist Gregory Porter performed a surprise gig to the delight of the craftsmen and women at the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars manufacturing plant. The eminent musician visited the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, West Sussex, where he entertained staff before touring the production line to see the super-luxury cars being made, by hand.

The soulful jazz musician brought the plant to a standstill by performing an outstanding and unforgettable rendition of No Love Dying, taken from his latest album Liquid Spirit. Wraith, the marque’s most powerful model to date, provided the perfect backdrop for the pop-up performance which was accompanied by Yosuke Sato on saxophone, Chip Crawford on piano, Aaron James on the double bass and Emanuel Harrold on drums.

Wraith’s fully active 18-channel amplifier delivered exceptional surround sound through 18 speakers. This includes two central bass speakers located in the boot, seven tweeters, seven mid-range and two ‘exciter’ speakers in the headliner, designed to bring the sound sensation to ear level while driving. Finely tuned by Rolls-Royce experts, the system boasts maximum power output at 1,300W, capable of delivering a ‘larger than life’ sensation that is rich in both quality and depth.

Gregory commented, “I had a wonderful time at the Rolls-Royce plant, being able to sing alongside the assembly line, I would say, is one of the most interesting places I have performed. Riding in the back of a Phantom is a dream come true.”

Richard Carter, Director of Communications, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars said, “It’s a real pleasure to see a Rolls-Royce motor car being enjoyed so imaginatively. The Bespoke Audio system in Wraith has been perfectly showcased by Gregory Porter’s fabulous talent and charismatic performance. We were delighted to welcome him to the Home of Rolls-Royce and are exceptionally grateful for the entertainment he provided so generously to our craftsmen and women.”

Gregory, who headlines the iTunes Festival on 17September at The Roundhouse, is one of the most emotional and easily identifiable performers to have emerged in recent years.
