  • Superb tops residual value comparison in the UK and Czech Republic
  • Four service providers (CAP, EurotaxGlass, DAT and IBS Automotive) confirm the new ŠKODA Superb’s excellent residual value
  • New Superb available to order now, ahead of deliveries later this year

MILTON KEYNES, UK -- July 7, 2015: The results are in from the European jury – the all-new Superb is officially forecast to have the strongest residual values in the mid-size sector. Having examined the UK and six other key European markets, CAP, DAT, EurotaxGlass, and IBS Automotive are forecasting that the new, third-generation Superb will be the most resistant to depreciation over the course of three years and 60,000 miles.

The new Superb was compared against the Ford Mondeo, Hyundai i40, Vauxhall Insignia, Citroen C5, Toyota Avensis, Peugeot 508 and Mazda 5. The version of the model varied depending on the market, but the winner was always the same: the new Superb.

In the UK, CAP Gold Book is forecasting that the highly specified new Superb SE L Executive 2.0 TDI 150PS will be worth nearly £1,200 more than the outgoing model after three years and 60,000 miles.

When compared against the competition Superb is also expected to perform strongly. Thanks to a retained value that is forecast to be eight per cent higher than the outgoing model, the new Superb is expected to be worth up to £2,650 more after three years and 60,000 miles than its direct rivals.

Jeff Knight, Forecasting Editor for CAP said: “With the new Superb ŠKODA has added even more space, higher equipment levels and cutting edge technology to a high-quality interior. Enhanced safety features and more efficient powertrains, finished off with a dynamic and stylish exterior, make it a compelling choice in the upper-medium sector.”

“These figures show the confidence that the industry places in the new Superb – and that comes from recognition that the Superb is the best ŠKODA ever. The new Superb offers new levels of comfort, space, practicality and style. It also offers all the characteristics ŠKODA customers have come to expect: great value, and high levels of safety – as recognised by a top five-star rating from Euro NCAP. All these attributes combine to make a car that will attract new customers to the brand,” said Patrick McGillycuddy, Head of Fleet for ŠKODA UK.

Included in the evaluation were criteria such as fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, value for money, quality and reliability. Design and brand aspects were also assessed.

Combining expressive design, advanced new technologies and outstanding spaciousness, the third-generation ŠKODA Superb will be available to order later this month, with first deliveries starting in September. Based on the Volkswagen Group’s innovative MQB technology, the Superb sets new standards for safety, connectivity, and efficiency.

The ŠKODA Superb has been the flagship model of ŠKODA’s range since 2001. To date, the brand has delivered over 700,000 first and second-generation ŠKODA Superbs to customers all over the world.

The latest Superb hatchback and Superb Estate are available to order now. With high levels of standard equipment, and low CO2 emissions (from just 95g/km when the GreenLine is launched) thanks to a highly efficient range of diesel and petrol engines, the latest model offers something for all customers.
