Bobby Labonte on Pole for Winston Cup Series ACDelco 400

ROCKINGHAM, NC -- Bobby Labonte has won his third Busch pole of the year
here at North Carolina Motor Speedway. Labonte, who tested here last week,
toured the 1.017 mile track with a 23.365 second at a 156.696 mile per hour
clip.

"This Pontiac was fast," said Labonte. "We qualified second here in the
spring so we knew we had a good qualifying package for Rockingham."

Siting on the outside of row one is Dale Jarrett in the Quality Care Ford.

The drivers that will round out the top-five are championship contender
Mark Martin, 1995 event winner Ward Burton and the driver of the Hot Wheels
Pontiac - Kyle Petty.

Positions one to twenty five are locked in for Sunday's ACDelco 400.
Positions 26 to 38 will be determined in second round qualifying tomorrow
(Saturday) at 11:00 AM.
