General Motors Update on Operations Affected by the Former Work Stoppage at the Warren Powertrain PlantWARREN, Mich., July 28 -- As of 11 a.m. EDT Monday, July 28, 1997, there are 16,500 GM North American vehicle assembly plant employees affected by the former work stoppage in Warren, Michigan. With the settlement in Warren, no additional vehicle assembly facilities will be affected by the work stoppage. Vehicle assembly facilities affected will resume normal operations as soon as possible. Oshawa passenger car assembly plants 1&2 will resume operations with the first shift Tuesday, July 29 and both Buick City and Orion Township will resume operations starting with the second shift on Tuesday, July 29. Updates on GM vehicle assembly facilities will be available at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day, Monday - Friday, on PR Newswire and GM's media internet site.
