Nissan Announces Voluntary Recall Campaign

CARSON, Calif., Aug. 4 -- Nissan Motor Corporation U.S.A.,
distributor of Nissan cars and trucks, announced today a voluntary recall
campaign of approximately 750 Sentra sedans manufactured between May 21, 1997
and June 5, 1997. Some 1997 Sentra sedans were shipped without rear door side
pads. The door pads help assure that the vehicles will meet federal safety
standards for side impact protection.
Nissan dealers will install the missing pad in each rear door. This will
be done at no charge to the customer. The National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration has been notified of this condition.
