Chrysler Corporation Challenges High School Students to Design Cars Of the Future Through 'Build Your Dream Vehicle'

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Oct. 8 -- Chrysler Corporation
announced today the fourth year of its "Build Your Dream Vehicle" program.
During the past three academic years, Chrysler has provided high school
students with a school-to-work opportunity to work in teams to develop and
design their dream vehicle. The program teaches students about teamwork,
marketing, finance, technology, design and communication.
During the 1996-1997 academic year, the top three finalist teams in each
city received school trophies, shared $42,500 in cash prizes and were invited
to several cultural events in addition to receiving personal prizes as well.
"We are consistently impressed at the designs and plans students have
developed in the past. This is a successful integrated curriculum program
that enables students to learn more about the exciting career opportunities
and challenges of automotive manufacturing. We look forward to seeing what
students will dream of this year," said Charles Hudson, Manager of Corporate
and Diversity Communications for Chrysler Corporation.
The 1997-1998 "Build Your Dream Vehicle" program is available to high
schools in the following seven cities: Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami,
