Electric Fuel EV Division Delivers Latest Battery Follow-On Order to Edison SpANEW YORK, Feb. 11 -- The Electric Vehicle Division of Electric Fuel Corporation announced today that it is completing delivery of the latest follow-on battery order from its Italian partner, Edison SpA. The order includes six zinc-air battery packs and related equipment. Edison is currently operating an electric Fiat Ducato van and Seat Marbella subcompact for demonstration purposes, and will use the new batteries to enhance its marketing activities. "The Electric Fuel zinc-air battery system is one of Italy's best hopes for solving the intensifying urban pollution crisis," says Claudio Serracane, Electric Power Sector, Research & Development Manager of Edison SpA. Edison, Italy's largest private energy producer, has licensed the Electric Fuel technology for Italy, France, Spain and Portugal, and has installed a battery refueling station and a pilot zinc anode regeneration plant at its facility in Trofarello, near Turin.
