No Joke: Kia Has Best March Sales Ever

                  Kia Experiences Best Sales Quarter as Well

    IRVINE, Calif., April 1 -- Kia Motors America today announced
record sales of 6,082 vehicles for the month of March.  This figure represents
the highest March sales in the company's four-year sales history.  In
addition, Kia experienced its best sales quarter ever -- beating out last
year's third quarter total of 18,468 vehicles by 5.5 percent.
    March sales represent the continuing trend of steady sales growth observed
by Kia for the past year.  Sales for 1997 were up 53 percent from 1996, with
January and February 1998 sales more than doubling sales from January and
February 1997.
    Kia now has more than 380 dealerships in 38 states and is expected to be
nationwide by the end of the year.
