Subaru Announces Pricing on 1999 Legacy Models; Pricing Remains at 1998 LevelsCHERRY HILL, N.J., June 23 -- Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) announced today the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) on the 1999 Legacy model line-up including the Outback, Sport Utility Sedan and special 30th Anniversary models. With added equipment, attractive pricing and new models, the 1999 line-up builds on the success of the 1998 models and fuels excitement for the continuous 30th Anniversary celebration. In keeping with the company's strategic direction, the 1999 Legacy line-up is exclusively all-wheel drive. Sedans & Wagons Pricing for the 1999 Legacy line, the mainstay of the Subaru line-up, will remain at 1998 levels with the added bonus of higher equipment levels on many models and upgrades across the model line. The popular remote keyless entry system will be added as standard equipment to all 2.5 GT, Sport Utility Sedan and Outback models at no additional cost. The MSRP begins at $16,895 for the price leader Legacy Brighton wagon. For Legacy sedans, the MSRP starts at $19,195 for the 2.2L manual transmission L model. The Outback line starts at $22,495 for the manual transmission. Automatic transmission is available on all Legacy models for $800. It is standard on the 30th Anniversary Editions of the Sport Utility Sedan, Sport Utility Sedan Limited and Outback Limited with Dual Moonroof. 30th Anniversary Edition L Sedan & Wagon In celebration of the company's 30th Anniversary in the U.S., Subaru has added outstanding value to the Legacy L model. Both the sedan and wagon have added equipment to the long list of traditional standard features. The 30th Anniversary Edition models come standard with power moonroof, alloy wheels, rear spoiler (sedan), roof rack (wagon), driver's seat height adjuster, body-color door handles and side molding, power antenna and a 30th Anniversary badge. In addition, two new colors have been added -- Sandstone Metallic and Winestone Pearl. The MSRP on the 30th Anniversary Edition L sedan starts at $20,195 for the manual transmission. The MSRP on the 30th Anniversary Edition L wagon starts at $20,895 for the manual transmission. New to the line-up this year is the 30th Anniversary Edition 2.5 GT Limited with manual transmission for an MSRP of $24,095. Delivery and destination charges remain at $495 for all vehicles except in Alaska ($685). 1999 Model year pricing for the company's Impreza and Forester models will be released at a later date.
