Mazda Announces Dramatic Repricing of Its 1999 Millenia
Prices of the Company's Flagship Luxury Sedan Reduced by Up to $5,550

IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 3 -- Mazda North American Operations
(MNAO) today announced substantial reductions in the prices of the 1999
Millenia models, the company's flagship luxury sedan. Overall, the reductions
amount to a decrease of $5,550, or 15.2 percent, for the Millenia S model with
Mazda's innovative 210-horsepower Miller-cycle V6 engine, and $2,450, or 8.4
percent, on the lead-in Millenia. The manufacturer's suggested retail price
for the 1999 Millenia is $26,545, while the Millenia S is priced at $31,045.
"Competition in the Millenia luxury market segment has been heating up,"
said Richard Beattie, president and CEO of MNAO. "We believe that the added
content of the 1999 Millenia, combined with this substantial price
realignment, will make it far and away the best value in its class."
"The Millenia has always been Mazda's best-kept secret," Beattie added.
"We're making one of the most acclaimed vehicles in its class even more
competitive to make sure that it is no longer our best-kept secret_it's now
our secret weapon." The 1999 Mazda Millenia features a restyled exterior,
revised interior and the Millenia S sports new 17-inch alloy wheels and tires.
Through August, Mazda's Millenia sales are up 13.1 percent over the
previous year.
