New Mercedes-Benz Retailer Opens in Fort WayneFORT WAYNE, Ind., Nov. 17 -- As sales of Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and light trucks continue to break records, Shaver Imports, which officially opens tomorrow, has opened for business to better service their Mercedes-Benz customers in the Fort Wayne and surrounding communities. The new $3,000,000 facility will house 25 employees in a 20,000 square-foot building on three and one-half acres of land at 7227 West Jefferson Blvd. in Fort Wayne, Indiana. "With the move across town from New Haven to Fort Wayne we have been able to offer our customers easy expressway access and more of the conveniences they have come to expect from Mercedes-Benz," said John Shaver, operator of the new retail outlet. The retail store is located about one mile east of I-69 near Lutheran Hospital allowing Mercedes-Benz customers from the surrounding communities the convenience of getting to the store for sales and service. The state-of-the-art facility which took eight months to build, features 14 service stalls, high-tech service equipment and unique air-conditioned service areas. "We have been on a tremendous sales roll and our product offerings continue to be the best cars at the best price in all segments of our industry," said region vice president Wally Anderson who heads the 10-state region for Mercedes-Benz of North America. "With Mercedes business so strong and continued growth expected in the future, it makes great sense to build a Mercedes retail store in a community where it can flourish," said Anderson. Shaver expects his Mercedes-Benz new and used car sales to double, or even triple in the next year and his service business to pick up dramatically with the new facility in its new location. "Our goal is simply to be the best. To have the best cars, with the best service and the best sales experience possible for our customers," said Shaver. The retailer will host a private reception on Wednesday, November 18, 1998 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
