AAA also projects 27.7 million people plan to travel by automobile, light truck or recreational vehicle this holiday, up 2 percent over the 27.2 million during last year's Thanksgiving holiday. Another 5.9 million travelers plan to get away by airplane, train or bus this year, also a 2 percent increase from the 5.8 million last year.
To ensure your safety this holiday, AAA Texas reminds you to prepare for unpredictable weather by checking reports before departure. Also, pre-plan your trip using up-to-date maps, try to stay on well-traveled roads, and pack an emergency kit that includes flares, jumper cables, a flashlight and a first-aid kit.
