COAST Suspension: Safety, Performance and Comfort

SAN DIEGO--April 6, 1999--AimRite Holdings Corporation announced that COAST, the unique and revolutionary suspension control system, dramatically improves the safety, performance and comfort of any truck, bus or automobile. With its low cost plus complete suspension control capabilities, COAST is worlds apart and superior to competing systems (e.g. Cadillac and Land Rover Discovery). COAST is superior because it simultaneously controls all the suspension dynamics on the vehicle. Competing electronic suspension control systems only target specific and few of the suspension dynamics of the vehicle. Conventional shock absorbers and anti-sway bars have remained virtually unchanged within the industry. However, current changes in modern vehicles have strained traditional anti-sway bars and shock absorber capability. Some of these problems include the difficulty in providing a luxury ride with today's much lighter weight vehicles, reducing rollover problems associated with SUVs, and limiting collision damage and injuries resulting from uneven bumper heights during rear end collisions. Industry efforts to solve these and other problems have ranged from very complex and expensive active systems with pumps, to specialized systems such as semi-active dampers that help provide improved luxury ride in lighter vehicles, to active roll control systems that attempt to limit lean while cornering.
AimRite's COAST suspension control system provides all of the above capabilities and more in one simple low cost system. COAST, which stands for Computer Optimized Adaptive Suspension Technology, accomplishes all this by eliminating conventional shocks and anti-sway bars and replacing them with simple, but powerful hydraulic suspension control units that incorporate extremely powerful & sophisticated software to make precision and powerful adjustments at each wheel 400 times per second. The result is a suspension control system that can optimally control up to nine dynamic areas of suspension performance: including roll, pitch, body motions, wheel motions and bottoming/topping out. According to a published article in Four Wheeler Magazine, "We've seen a previous generation (COAST) setup on a Suburban and the results were impressive. Axle articulation after the conversion was astounding... and the system shuts off when not needed so the temperature remained very cool. In taking the Suburban out on a test ride, we immediately noticed a difference. There is less pitch under braking. You can throw it sideways without it wanting to tip over. You can drive headlong into dips at 25 MPH, hit the rebound stops without hammering the bump stops when you land and get a ride as smooth as the springs will allow. You also get flexibility, as the test Suburban got places in 2-wheel drive with no wheel spin, something the factory unit never would have managed."
Interested customers at the OEM level include SUV, heavy duty truck, bus, military and recreation vehicle manufacturers. AimRite is currently working with several manufacturers to lay the initial groundwork that is forming the basis of future sales and exciting growth for AimRite Holdings Corporation.
