Volkswagen's New Beetle Revs Up MTV's Road Rules Season Finale

AUBURN HILLS, Mich.--April 27, 1999--The New Volkswagen Beetle will take center stage during the season finale of MTV's Road Rules on Monday, April 26 at 10:00 p.m. As a gift to the five cast members who endured the rigors of the Road Rules challenge, Volkswagen will award each his or her very own New Volkswagen Beetle.
"Volkswagen is very proud to be part of the Road Rules cast. From watching their long trek, we can see that Brian, Sarah, Josh, Abe and Holly possess the same spirit of adventure that is at the heart of our Volkswagen Drivers Wanted message," said Clark Campbell, Volkswagen of America's promotions manager. "That's why it's so appropriate to recognize this unique group of people by giving each of them a New Beetle."
The Road Rules season finale is not a debut for Volkswagen during this journey. The German automaker kicked off the Road Rules season by providing the Eurovan for the Costa Rican leg of the adventure, and a Cabrio, which was used in Mexico.
"Volkswagen's involvement in MTV's Road Rules was much appreciated and fun," said John Miller, Senior Vice President, Original Program and Series Development, MTV. "We are sure our Road Rules cast will be pleased to drive away in style behind the wheel of a New Beetle.
