(SIA) announced the start of production of the 2000 Model Year Legacy line as its "Job One" vehicle rolled off the production line in Lafayette, Ind. yesterday. (Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/19990518/PHTU020 http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/19990518/PHTU020-b ) During a celebratory event held at the automaker's joint venture assembly plant, the first two vehicles -- a 2000 MY Outback and a GT Sedan -- rolled off the line to cheers from the assembled audience of SIA associates, company officials and special guests. The 2000 MY Legacy line will arrive in Subaru dealerships in early-July 1999. The 2000 MY Subaru Legacy line includes the Outback, Outback Sedan, 2.5 GT Sedan and Wagon, and the Legacy L Sedan and Wagon. Pricing for the new vehicles has not yet been announced.
