The Cobalt Group Sponsors Emerging Female Race Car Driver

SEATTLE--July 23, 1999--The Cobalt Group, a leading provider of Internet marketing solutions for automotive dealerships and manufacturers, announced today that it will be the major sponsor for Portland-based racer Cindi Lux in the Women's Global GT series.
Lux is among the most accomplished racers in the series. Her impressive resume includes track records at seven different racing venues, 51 wins, 32 pole positions, and countless podium finishes.
The series, which runs in conjunction with the American LeMans series, was created exclusively for women racers who drive identical Panoz GT cars in a unique and challenging format. With the sponsorship, Lux's Hahn Performance Group Racing Team will carry the Cobalt logo for the rest of the season.
"I'm very excited to have The Cobalt Group as a major sponsor," Lux said of the agreement. "Cobalt's track record of helping the auto industry take advantage of the power of the Internet is tremendous, and all of their people are very enthusiastic about motor-racing. It is a great partnership."
Cobalt's support of Lux and The Hahn Performance Group team will commence at this weekend's series event at Sears Point Raceway.
Lux will look to build on her third-place finish at the first race of the year at Road Atlanta. "It's great to have Cobalt behind me. Now I can just concentrate on racing, and spread the message about their products and services," she said.
Diane Wetherington, vice president of marketing for The Cobalt Group was equally enthusiastic, "Cindi's passion for the Women's Global GT Series and motor-racing appealed to us," she said. "Cindi's rise as a leading female racecar driver in this new series is similar to Cobalt's emergence as a cutting-edge Internet marketing company in the auto industry. We're thrilled to support her in her endeavors and have her represent Cobalt in the industry."
