AAA Michigan Makes Top 50 in Nation for Insurance Premiums
DEARBORN, Mich., Aug. 24 -- For the fourth consecutive year,
Auto Club Insurance Association (ACIA) is among the top 50 property and
casualty insurance groups in the country (based on premiums written), as
ranked by National Underwriter magazine.
In 1998, the ACIA -- a member-owned organization which underwrites auto,
home, boat, group and life insurance for AAA Michigan/Wisconsin members --
wrote $973,292,000 in premiums, ranking the company 49th in the nation. ACIA
has achieved Top 50 rankings every year since 1988, with the sole exception of
1995. AAA is the state's largest auto insurer and largest Auto Club.
"Our position in the marketplace is solid and continues to grow," said
Terry Shea, President and COO, Auto Club Insurance Association. "Our members
have long recognized the value and benefits of belonging to AAA. In this day
and age of mega-mergers and acquisitions, AAA maintains a long and strong
tradition of high-quality and personalized products and services all across
Michigan. Our 1.7 million members have made us the number one auto insurer in
Michigan because they are number one with us."
