Ford Focus Unveils 'Tailored for You' Kits for Pets and Pros

    ANAHEIM, Calif., Oct. 20 -- The Ford Focus brand team
unveiled two "Tailored For You" (T4U) kits at the California International
Auto Show today.  The kits allow customers to create their own individualistic
Focus by selecting fun features that fit their lifestyles.
    "The 'Tailored For You' kits allow Focus customers to create their own
brand -- 'Brand Me'," said Lew Echlin, Ford Focus advanced product manager.
"Consumers want their own space, and they view their car as a critical space
they want to imprint with their own identity.  Focus' 'T4U' kits let them
express themselves in an affordable, fun fashion."
    The "Have Spot, Will Travel" kit is designed to make pets and their owners
comfortable in the Focus.  The kit includes a pet restraint and harness that
allows your pet to be restrained safely and comfortably in the car.  The
comfortable harness has a quick release and comes in different sizes.  "Our
consumer research shows that to many people, pets are part of the family --
this kit allows those people to create their own environment for their pets in
their car," Echlin said.
    Also included in the "Have Spot, Will Travel" kit are:
    *  Hot and Cool Pet Bed.  The plush pad can be heated or cooled with tap
water so your pet can find the right temperature on those long trips.  A
durable waterproof liner locks in the moisture.
    *  Spot's Super-Duper Lint Roller.  Pet hair remover with an ergonomic
handle.  Fits in the Focus rear cupholder so you're always neat for your next
appointment.
    *  Insulated Pet Beverage Bottle.  Keeps water fresh for your pet.
1.5 liter bowl has an adjustable shoulder strap to take on hiking trips.
    *  Stow and Go Water Bowl.  Fold it, scrunch it, it goes where you go, on
or off road.  Holds up to two goldfish comfortably.
    *  Fido's Food Dispenser and Belt Bag.  Large water-resistant bag with
shoulder strap for pet's meals.  Includes small bags for treats and leashes --
fastens to your belt.
    *  Insulated and Water Resistant Carry All.  Keeps your pet's gear in one
easy-to-use case.
    *  Air Purifier.  You love your pet, but on trips with the windows up
things can get a little "close."  The air purifier takes odors and other
pollutants out of the air, and is mounted neatly behind the Focus center
console.

    Also unveiled today is the "Mobile Pro Kit"  which turns Focus into an
office.  The Mobile Pro Kit includes:
    *  Mobile workstation.  Attaches to the front passenger seat safely and
conveniently.  You can work from your car with the broad, no-slip working
surface featuring a fold-out clipboard and deep bins to hold your laptop
safely and securely.
    *  Musette Bag from REI.  Bag features an ample padded slot for your
laptop, as well as pockets for your cell phone, MP3 player and other tools of
the renaissance professional's trade.

    The "Mobile Pro" kit and the "Have Spot, Will Travel" kit are the first of
a series of kits which will be available on Focus.  They will be available at
dealers by the end of the year.  Kits will be marketed through Ford dealers,
