F-550 Super Crewzer: Ultimate Luxury HaulerDETROIT, Jan. 11 -- The ultimate luxury hauler, F-550 Super Crewzer II, made its debut at the 1999 Specialty Equipment Marketing Association (SEMA) Show and continues to turn heads at the 2000 North American International Auto Show. The Super Crewzer II show truck, based on the Super Duty F-550 crew cab production model, demonstrates there is no limit to luxury and comfort in a Class 5 truck when it comes to on-highway driving and heavy-duty hauling. While these trucks are primarily commercial-use vehicles, customers who haul race cars, multi-horse trailers, RV trailers and large boats look for the personal use refinements and applications shown by the Super Crewzer II. On the inside, Super Crewzer II features plush leather seating and an entertainment system with a flip-down video screen for rear seat passenger enjoyment. The exterior is enhanced with a Bright Blue paint, an integrated sun visor and rear cab fairing, and a chrome steel tube grille. The Super Crewzer II features a complete bed with integrated, lighted running boards and fender flares. The bed also features side markers and rear clearance lights, with aluminum trimmed bed rails. The bed interior is lined with diamond-plate and features a matching color-keyed tool box. A fifth-wheel hitch finishes off the bed, and a Class 4 hitch is integrated in the rear bumper for conventional towing. Power is provided by a 7.3-liter turbodiesel engine backed with a four-speed automatic transmission. The Super Duty F-450/550 line offers customers 10,000 pounds of towing capacity with a conventional hitch and between 18,400 and 18,800 pounds with a fifth wheel. Gross Combined Weight Ratings (GCWR) on all the chassis cabs is 26,000 pounds.
