Rebates Available in Denver Area for ZAP Electric Vehicles
DENVER, Jan. 31 -- Buyers of ZAP (OTC Bulletin Board: ZAPP)
electric vehicles in the Denver metro area are now eligible for rebates
ranging from $50 for a ZAPPY folding scooter, to $200 for a motorcycle or
bicycle, and up to $500 for a GEM Neighborhood electric vehicle (NEV).
The rebates, available for several makes and models of alternative fuel
vehicles (AFVs), are from the Denver/Boulder Clean Cities Coalition and the
American Lung Association. The rebate program is available to individuals,
Clean Cities members, and fleets who purchase vehicles between October 1, 1999
to September 30, 2001.
Funding is available on a first-come, first-serve basis to those who
complete an application form, provide a vehicle invoice and proof of
registration, and are approved by the Clean Cities team. The type of AFV
vehicle determines the amount of rebate. ZAP's electric vehicles fall under a
"Personal-scale" designation. To receive an application and further
information, contact ZAP at 800-251-4555.
