Jeep Receives CIO-100 Award for Customer Service Excellence

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - The August issue of IDG's CIO magazine announces the
Jeep(R) brand as a recipient of the 2000 CIO-100 award, which recognizes
organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational
and strategic excellence. This year's award program focuses on excellence,
innovation and improved business performance through the use of customer-
oriented practices.

"We are very proud to win this honor among such a diversified list of
prestigious companies and brands," said Tom Marinelli, Vice President -
Chrysler/Jeep Division Global Brand Center. "For us it is verification that
these programs are meaningful and offer high value to our loyal customers."

To provide a vision of ever-changing business trends, the focus of the
CIO-100 award changes annually. This year CIO honors 100 companies that make
the customer central to doing business and set the benchmarks for others to
follow. Complete coverage of the 2000 CIO-100 Awards is featured in the
August 15 issue of CIO magazine and at http://www.cio.com .

The Jeep brand continues at the forefront of customer relationship
marketing with three programs that highlight the world-class capabilities of
Jeep Grand Cherokee, Cherokee and Wrangler. With the goal of increasing owner
loyalty, Jeep Marketing created Jeep 101, Jeep Jamborees and Camp Jeep(TM) as
a benefit of Jeep ownership.

DaimlerChrysler's Jeep Division is taking its successful Jeep 101 program
to 18 cities across the country for the 2000 tour. Now in its fourth year,
Jeep 101 brings the "canyon to the city," offering current and prospective
owners the opportunity to learn the basic skills of off-highway driving and
experience the Jeep brand lifestyle.

Since the early 1950s, Jeep owners and their families have been
participating in weekend four-wheel drive adventures called Jeep Jamborees.
From the Maine Mountains to California's famed Rubicon Trail, almost 7,000
owners participate in the more than 30 Jamborees held each year. These
family-oriented two-day events are designed to allow Jeep owners the
opportunity to hone their skills in off-highway situations while learning more
respect for the environment.

A "summer camp" like no other, Camp Jeep offers owners from across the
country the opportunity to learn more about the capabilities of their vehicles
while enjoying three days of outdoor activities. Since its inception in 1995,
more than 20,000 people from 48 states and several countries have made Camp
Jeep their summer vacation destination.
