Evenflo and Transport Canada Announce Car Seat Safety Alert

    OAKVILLE, Ontario--Sept. 1, 2000--Evenflo Canada, Inc., in cooperation with Transport Canada is notifying purchasers of approximately 500 Secure Advantage(R) V child car seats manufactured from May 22, 2000 to May 26, 2000 that the seats inadvertently displayed an incorrect rear-facing maximum weight rating on the advertising card attached to the front of the seat. This card is discarded by the consumer prior to use of the seat. The correct information is on the car seat's permanently attached labels, instructions and packaging.
    The manufacturing date for each seat can be found on a label on the back of the seat. These seats, as all Evenflo car seats, meet or exceed all applicable Canadian safety standards. All car seats currently available for sale at retail stores have the correct information.
    Evenflo and Transport Canada urge users of these and all child car seats to review the permanent labels and instructions, which accompany the car seats, and their vehicle owner's manual for proper installation and use of car seats. BR>
