Kia to Replace ORVR Valve

13 November 2000

Kia to Replace ORVR Valve
IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 10 Kia today announced a voluntary
recall of 1998 and 1999 Sephia compact sedans to replace the on-board
refueling vapor recovery (ORVR) valve.
A total of 100,137 Sephias will be recalled due to a miscalibrated ORVR
valve that could make it difficult to completely fill the fuel tank. It could
also result in fuel coming back out during refueling, which could be a safety
hazard.
Sephia owners are being asked by mail to bring their vehicle to a Kia
dealership so the ORVR valve can be replaced. The procedure will take about
two hours and will be done at no charge.
