Winner of InvoiceDealers Popularity Index 2000: Ford F-Series PALO ALTO, Calif., Jan. 9 InvoiceDealers, The Leader in
Automotive Comparison Shopping, released the favorite cars, trucks, SUVs and
minivans of online comparison shoppers for the year 2000.
Year 2000 Results
The Ford F-Series truck dominated the Comparison-Shopping Popularity Index
2000 (SM) from start to finish. It was requested more than any other vehicle,
including the most popular car, the Honda Accord. The F-Series was the only
vehicle to lead its category every month last year, often scoring 3 times
higher than its closest competitor.
The Honda Accord finished number one in Cars, placing first in all but two
months last year. The Ford Focus proved to be the rookie of the year as it
finished fourth behind the Accord, Honda Civic and Toyota Camry.
The Ford Explorer was the SUV selected most frequently by shoppers
throughout the year, despite finishing December ranked sixth. The
up-and-coming Ford Escape was the number one SUV in December, but ranked only
tenth over the entire year.
After jostling for first place throughout 2000, the Honda Odyssey beat the
Toyota Sienna as the favorite minivan of comparison shoppers. The Sienna was
the favorite one third of the year, finishing on top in the last 2 months.
