1996 MAXIMA...NISSANS Q-SHIP

You like cup holders ? Y'know like Chrysler minivans have six spread out around the car and everybody likes 'em. Well not only does the '96 Nissan Maxima luxo-sedan have cupholders they even have a square one for McDonalds,Burger square milk cartons. It works.

Maxima looks like a lot of cars on the roadthat are in its price class. The one we tested was white, four doors, doors and a rear spoiler and it ran like a champ because under the hood pulsated a 3-liter,V-6 motor putting out 190 hp. With a fivespeed this car wails..great away from the stop light.

MOTOR TREND MAGAZINE named Maxima their impotrt car of the year for 1995. The seemingly odd dashboard treatment has long been a Maxima trademark and once you get used to the stark, huge black on white analog gauges you will like them. Much like those found on a race car. The $27,000 four-door has tilt wheel, cruise control and sun roof.

Fuel economy is 22mpg city...28mpg highway.
