2001 Audi S8

Audi

If the A8 is not enough Audi for you, the S8 certainly will be. Lurking beneath its unassuming hood is a five-valve 4.2-liter V8 engine with 360 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 317 pound-feet of torque at 3,400 rpm. You can absolutely launch from a standstill. The S8 also includes a healthy group of three-letter systems: Electronic Differential Locking (EDL)for low-speed traction, Electronic Braking-Pressure Distribution (EBD) maximizes the ABS system for all load and road contitions, and Electronic Stability Program (ESP) handles understeer and oversteer.

Audi

Other enhancements include optimized intake paths, a new two-stage variable intake manifold, revised camshafts and a free-flowing exhaust system. Couple this with a body structure constructed of aluminum and you'll feel the structural rigidity in every curve. Downright killer handling and responsiveness. The interior is elegant and understated with plenty of seat adjustments and memory, as well as a delicious Bose sound system. Passengers and drivers alike were all smiles after riding in the Audi S8.
