2002 Mercedes CLK 55AMG

Speed, thy name is CLK. The AMG-tuned 342-horsepower 5.5-liter V8 launches the 2002 CLK55 from 0 to 60 in around 5 seconds. The adaptive-logic five-speed automanual transmission features TouchShift manual control for drivers wanting to partake of gearchanges. This particular version is tuned for a firm ride and taut handling. We tested the convertible which as it converts is quite a show - with James Bondian flair, it automaticly tucks itself away in a ballet of folding and unfolding.

Wood and leather abound, of course. The instrumentation features the Cockpit Management and Data (COMAND) system that combines radio, navigation, telephone and trip-computer functions into one unit that displays data on a small dash-mounted screen. In the area of safety you'll find Automatic Slip Regulation (ASR) traction control as well as Electronic Stability Program (ESP), which keeps the CLK on track by selectively applying the brakes. The TeleAid system automatically summons medical or police assistance, roadside assistance, and a tracking system that locates the car if it has been stolen. If you're thinking that this sounds like a dream car, you're right. It is.
