2002 Audi S6 Avant

ext

While driving the 2002 Audi S6 Avant it is very useful to from time to time use the rearview mirror. Not only because you will probably find yourself pushing the velocity envelop - but also because you need to remind yourself that you are driving a wagon. The all-aluminum 4.2-liter dual overhead cam V8 engine (as in the S8) puts out 340 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 310 pound-feet of torque at 3,400 rpm - helped along by a variable intake manifold with triple intake paths and a direct ignition system. Are you ready for a Dynamic Shift Program (DSP), with 200 shift patterns for various varietites of drivers and conditions? Hmmmm. Today feels like a 67.

The interior is adorned by bells and whistles - and if that's not enough you can add heated rear seats, Alcantara seat inserts, manual sunshades for the rear side windows, rear side airbags and a Parktronic rear safety sensor, an Audi Navigation system, an Audi Telematics by OnStar system and a portable digital phone with voice recognition technology. The partridge and the pear tree are probably also available. When it comes to luxury wagons, consider the S6 Avant to be the Lance Armstrong - strong, fast, and currently in a clas of its own.
