United Airlines Named Best Overall Frequent Flyer Program in the World for 14th Consecutive Year
CHICAGO, Dec. 1, 2017 -- For the 14th consecutive year, readers of Global Traveler, a monthly publication written exclusively for frequent business and luxury travelers, voted United's MileagePlus loyalty program the Best Overall Frequent Flyer Program in the world. United has been recognized with this distinction every year since the inception of the GT Tested Reader Survey in 2004.
In the survey completed by frequent business and luxury travelers, United's MileagePlus program was also named the Best Frequent-Flyer Bonus Program for the fifth consecutive year.
The United MileagePlus Club Card from Chase was named Best Credit Card and Best Credit Card Rewards Program, both for the sixth consecutive year. The United MileagePlus Explorer Card from Chase won for Best Frequent-Flyer Affinity Credit Card Redemption for the fifth consecutive year.
"What is especially exciting about these honors is that they are awarded by travelers, and therefore a testament to our commitment to providing MileagePlus members and credit card holders with the industry-leading experience," said Luc Bondar, United's Vice President, Loyalty. "It is our goal to provide a loyalty program that recognizes and rewards all of our members while offering a breadth of valuable earning and redemption opportunities."
MileagePlus members earn award miles by flying United, United Express, Star Alliance airlines or other airline partners, and by purchasing products or services from partners around the globe. Members enjoy a variety of options for using those award miles, including to pay for travel, hotel stays, car rentals and merchandise.
Through MileagePlus Exclusives, members are able to use their miles on unique and memorable experiences with a VIP touch across the widest range of mileage levels. Recent examples of MileagePlus Exclusives include: an auction for parts of the airline's now retired iconic 747 fleet, dinner at world-renowned restaurants, and club level and luxury suites packages for a variety of sporting events.
Global Traveler also awarded United for Best International First Class Champagne for the Joseph Perrier Brut Cuvée Royale 2004.
Additionally this week, the United TravelBank Card from Chase was selected as the 2017 Mega Award winner for Excellence in Co-Brands at Mega Event 2017, a travel industry conference. Launched earlier this year, the United TravelBank Card allows customers to earn United TravelBank cash on every purchase to redeem toward United flights.
