Police Cruiser of the Future is Made in Canada TORONTO, March 28 /CNW/ - Ford Motor Company's Jim O'Connor introduced the Ford Interceptor concept car today at the New York International Auto Show. The concept car is based on the 2003 Ford Interceptor which is made exclusively at Ford of Canada's St. Thomas Assembly Plant. Located near London, Ont., St. Thomas Assembly Plant built nearly 60,000 police cars last year, along with 140,000 Ford Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis sedans. The plant, which employs 2,900 people, will soon begin producing the new 2003 Mercury Marauder. The Interceptor concept car has crush-resistant bumpers with reinforced steel push bars, 18-inch alloy wheels and a modular 4.6-litre, 4- valve V-8 engine that produces 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque.
