At Brisbane, Cat Trucks Recognized for Showcasing Bold Product Lineup
BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA – May 28, 2013: At the Brisbane Truck Show, Australian customers glimpsed for the first time the full range of on-highway Cat Trucks products. And it’s clear they liked what they saw.
The proof: Not only was Cat Trucks recognized as the show’s “Outstanding Truck Manufacturer Display” but the Cat CT630LS was also given the first-ever “People’s Choice Award for the Best Presented Truck of the Show.”
“The Brisbane Truck Show sets the pace for the industry, and we were extremely pleased to have the opportunity to unveil our full product range in this magnificent venue,” said Bill Fulton, Cat Trucks managing director for Australia and New Zealand. “Customer reaction was strong and positive – and it demonstrates that we are listening to customer feedback and introducing new models and features that deliver increased value and will allow us to reach additional customers.”
The striking, multi-level Cat Trucks stand displayed a full range of Cat on-highway trucks, from the extremely fuel-efficient new Cat CT610 with the CT13 engine, to the new Cat CT630 with the Cat C15 engine, to the brand-new Cat CT630LS luxury sleeper. The stand also allowed customers to view trucks from a wide array of vantage points, including directly beneath the undercarriage of a CT630LS.
“The response from attendees was exceptional – the strongest I’ve seen in all my years in the industry,” said Kevin Dennis, Cat Trucks general manager, Sales and Marketing for Australia and New Zealand. “Customers told us they were surprised and pleased by the variety of trucks on display, impressed with the quality they were able to confirm close up, and eager to take these products out on the road.”
The highly visible Cat Trucks stand also showcased a wide range of applications, from water truck to a new CT630 tipper spec that was equipped with a high polished alloy tipper body and had a paint colour that one viewer described as “a modern day ‘Mona Lisa¬’ where the colour changed as you walked past.”
The stand also featured the highly prominent CT630LS in both Ultra Shift and Roadranger transmission models. The CT630LS models were the talk of the show, and with a superior paint colour scheme that reflected the brand’s power, it’s no wonder that it won the inaugural “People’s Choice” award.
The resulting foot traffic was likely the greatest of any stand at the show, while Cat-branded merchandise flew off the shelves.
“It’s gratifying to see the intense reaction from Cat loyalists,” Kevin noted. “And it’s also great to see our new luxury sleeper products breaking into a new sector of the market and challenging the traditional providers.”
The “Outstanding Truck Manufacturer Display,” was awarded to Cat Trucks by the peak industry association, the Commercial Vehicle Industry Association of Queensland, and presented by show sponsor BP Australia. The “People’s Choice Award for the Best Presented Truck of the Show” was selected by the public through their posts on the show’s social media platform.
“This year’s Brisbane Truck Show, the best in memory, has given us the opportunity to reconnect with our customers and thank them for their support,” Kevin concluded. “From major customers to the general public to the media, we’ve been deeply gratified by the response to our new, expanded lineup – and we’re working on even more models to address Australian customers’ needs.”
