New York, NY (January 16, 2025) – Road & Track today named the 2024 Lamborghini Revuelto its Performance Car of the Year, beating nine other world-class challengers to represent the best of the performance-vehicle market. The 12th-annual comparison test is on RoadandTrack.com now and in the February/March issue of the magazine, available everywhere by January 21.

The nine other contenders for the 2025 Performance Car of the Year were the 2025 Aston Martin Vantage, 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed, 2025 BMW Z4 M40i, 2024 Maserati GranTurismo Trofeo, 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata Club, 2025 McLaren Artura Spider, 2024 McLaren 750S, 2024 Mercedes-AMG GT 63, and the 2024 Porsche 718 Spyder RS.

Testing took place in California over the course of four days on Thunderhill Raceway Park’s West circuit and on roads across central Northern California. Editor-in-Chief Daniel Pund and his staff voted to select the winner at the end of the final day of testing.

“Lamborghini’s new Revuelto arises from a frenzied past of mid-engine V-12s. Miura, Countach, Diablo, Murcielago, Aventador. Not race cars and not mere supercars. Dream cars,” notes Road & Track Senior Editor John Pearley Huffman in the article. “Cars for boiling blood, frazzling souls, and inspiring perversions. Outlandish, impractical, lascivious, profligate, and primal. The good stuff…The Lamborghini Revuelto is the Performance Car of the Year because it delivers on collective fantasy better than ever.”

The Lamborghini Revuelto succeeds last year’s two Performance Cars of the Year, the Ferrari 296 GTB (Over $100,000) and the Acura Integra Type S (Under $100,000).

To be eligible for Performance Car of the Year, vehicles must be series-production, street-legal cars that push the limits of performance and pleasure on both road and track. The winning Performance Car of the Year was determined using the following criteria:

* Outright speed and testing numbers are part of the package but they don’t determine the winner. Beyond sheer pace, a car has to bring emotion to the table.

* The car must embrace track duty while still being enjoyable on the road.

* Technology has to be used in service to the driver, not just added speed. Feedback and sensation via complexity is great but complexity alone doesn’t cut it.

* Lastly, would any other manufacturer build it? Does the car feel uniquely of its story and brand, with a personality all its own?
