Jaguar XK8 in Nieman Marcus Christmas Catalog

09/11/96

Limited Edition Jaguar XK8 to be Featured by Neiman Marcus

DALLAS, Sept. 9 -- Jaguar Cars announced today that a
limited edition version of its new 1997 XK8 sports car will be offered
through the Neiman Marcus Christmas catalogue.

Jaguar will build a maximum of 50 of the specially equipped XK8
convertibles at its factory in Coventry, England, and all will be
available only to those customers ordering from Neiman Marcus.

"We're delighted to be associated with Neiman Marcus," said Jerry
Frick, vice president, sales and marketing, Jaguar Cars. "Like
everything their catalogue offers, Jaguars are built for discerning
owners, and we believe that the exclusivity of this special edition of
the XK8 will have particular appeal for Neiman Marcus customers."

For driving enthusiasts, the sleek new XK8 brings back the exuberant
spirit of classic Jaguar sports machines like the legendary E-type and
XK 120.

Unique to this special edition XK8 are a Titanium (silvery gray)
exterior color, special bird's-eye maple trim not available on any
other XK8 sold in the United States, and distinctive sport leather
interior. It is also equipped with a Harman Kardon premium sound
system with CD autochanger, chromed wheels, lambswool footwell rugs
and a convertible wind deflector.

As expected of any new Jaguar sports car, the XK8 also offers
leading-edge technology. An advanced new V8 engine, the first ever
designed by Jaguar, smoothly delivers 290 horsepower for effortless
acceleration. A new five- speed automatic transmission, Jaguar's
sophisticated independent suspension, and world-class
variable-assist/variable ratio power steering provide taut response
and precise handling for exceptional ride comfort and refinement.

"This is only the second Jaguar that has been offered through our
catalogue," said Bernie Feiwus, president, Neiman Marcus Direct. "The
first was the extraordinary E-type in 1968 -- perhaps the most
well-known Jaguar of all. We think it's very appropriate that our
second Jaguar is the XK8 -- a car that some members of the media have
called the spiritual successor to the E-type."

The limited edition Jaguar XK8 will be offered to Neiman Marcus
customers for $74,975.
