Ford Credit First With Internet Account Access

    DEARBORN, Mich., July 15 -- Ford Credit's customers in the
U.S. can now access their accounts on the company's interactive web site.
Ford Credit is the first automotive finance company to offer U.S. customers
account information on the Internet.
    Ford Credit's Internet Customer Account Access offers a convenient way to
access account information - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including:
    * amount and date of last payment
    *  payoff information
    *  vehicle data
    "Leading in technology is an integral part of being a leader in the
finance industry," says Edsel B. Ford II, president, Ford Credit. "The
Internet enables us to better serve our customers in entirely new ways."
    The Internet Customer Account Access is only one of Ford Credit's
initiatives on the Internet. Ford Credit was the first automotive finance
company to offer multi-national, multi-lingual sites. It was first with an
interactive calculator that compares monthly payments for leasing vs.
financing a Ford vehicle. And soon, Ford Credit's web site will offer credit
pre-approval on the Internet, allowing a prospective customer to fill out and
return a credit application on-line. Ford Credit will respond directly to the
customer on-line.
     The Ford Credit home page is located at http://www.fordcredit.com. The
web site provides seamless links to Ford Motor Company, and general financing
information such as an explanation of common leasing terms. Ford Extended
Warranties, and Ford Money Market and other Ford Credit products also are
highlighted.
    A wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company , Ford Credit
offers automotive financial services to more than eight million customers in
33 countries. Ford Credit is the world's largest company dedicated to
automotive finance and is part of Ford's Financial Services Group.
