New California Headquarters for Jaguar North AmericaMAHWAH, N.J., Feb. 24 -- Jaguar Cars North America is announcing the establishment of a new California-based headquarters as part of a wider move by Ford Motor Company to locate all of its premium brands in one all-new facility. The current headquarters for Jaguar Cars North America in Mahwah, N.J., will remain a Jaguar office and will continue to house such functions as dealer operations, parts, service and systems. Located in Irvine, California, the new headquarters building will provide a West Coast base for all the Premier Automotive Group brands of Jaguar, Volvo, Aston Martin and Lincoln Mercury. Jaguar strategic functions relocating to the new California headquarters include franchise development, marketing, communications and direct support. In addition, the president of Jaguar North America plus members of the executive management team will also be based in the new purpose-built facility. "The opportunity to have part of the team located in California has always been desirable for Jaguar. California is one of Jaguar's largest markets worldwide and so it makes great sense for us to have our North American headquarters there," said Mike Dale, president of Jaguar North America. "Combined with our existing offices in New Jersey, Jaguar will be well placed to continue our aggressive growth across North America. Having key operations located in such diverse markets will not only benefit our business here in North America but also strengthen our understanding of the global luxury car market," added Dale. Construction of the new headquarters -- a part of the expanded Ford Motor Company campus at the Irvine Spectrum -- will commence in the second quarter of 2000 with completion in late 2001. The new facility will provide accommodation for around 800 employees of Jaguar, Volvo, Aston Martin and Lincoln Mercury.
