2002 Saab 9-5 Aero
SEE ALSO: Saab Buyer's Guide
The 2002 Saab 9-5 may not look very different from last year, but changes there are a-plenty. The Aero we tested was armed with a new 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder for a very accessable 250 hp. When you need it, it is there, throughout the power range. Aero's also have performance-tuned suspensions, 17-inch wheels and tires, leather sport seats with metallic dash trim. Enhanced interior stuff includes adaptive airbags, improved seatbelts and ISOFIX child seat anchors. New options: bi-xenon headlights, a rear parking assist system and rain-sensing wipers. If you have been harboring any "niche" oriented ideas about Saabs, then it's time you take a test drive. The Saab ride is unique with its center of gravity directly beneath you, the handling is second to none. We dare you to drive this car and not come back smiling. - Editor |
