2006 NY Auto Show

2006 New York International Auto Show
Toyota Tundra

Tundra is available in three cab styles: Regular Cab, Access Cab and Double Cab. Regular Cab models are available in the Standard grade, and Access and Double Cab models are available in SR5 and Limited grades.

Tundra’s standard 4.0-liter dual overhead cam (DOHC) V6 produces 236 horsepower, with 266 lb-ft. of torque at 4,000 rpm. The available 4.7-liter i-Force DOHC V8 produces 271 horsepower, with 313 lb-ft. of torque at 3,400 rpm. In both engines, Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) helps provide substantial low-end and mid-range torque. An electronic throttle control system with intelligence (ETCS-i) helps optimize performance and fuel economy.

The i-Force V8 is teamed exclusively with a five-speed automatic transmission and is available in 4x2 and 4x4 models. Tundra V6 models come with the 4x2 powertrain with a standard six-speed manual transmission and offer the five-speed automatic as an option.

Equipped exclusively with the i-Force V8 engine and five-speed automatic transmission, the 4x2 and 4x4 Double Cab models are built on a 140.5-inch wheelbase, which is longer than that of the Ford F150 Super Crew. In comparison, Tundra Regular Cab and Access Cab models ride on a 128.3-inch wheelbase.
