T. Boone Pickens (right) talking on stage with Andrew Littlefair

Boone Pickens: Some out there might not like my energy plan, but they don’t have one of their own… and their lack of a plan is a tacit support for foreign oil. Whatever alt fuel plan we do get will be better than foreign oil, any alt fuel as long as it's American as the replacement for foreign oil based fuels for passenger cars and other light duty vehicles, I will support.

Co-publishers Note: Mr. T. Boone Pickens died yesterday September 11, 2019 without ever seeing the fruits of his personal efforts and money spent in trying to move American politicians to act on the benefits of Natural Gas and other alt fuels to replace poison gasoline and diesel.

He was as passionate about Natural Gas as he was about his Alma Mater Oklahoma State University. Over the years Mr. Boone and I became acquaintances, kindred souls in our mutual glorious quest to replace gasoline and diesel petroleum based fuels with alternatives that would solve the many problems with petroleum based mobility fuels.

During one meeting in 2009 we discussed that Mr. Pickens should buy the dying Hummer from GM and build it as a dual fuel vehicle CNG and Diesel and add a CNG filling station to every Hummer Dealer...he thought this was a great idea but told me that I should have brought this to him years before, before he spent all of his money".

As rich and connected as Boone was, his "Pickens Plan" languished while he was alive, went quiet when he became ill and has now disappeared since he is no longer able to promote it.

If T. Boone couldn't get alt fuel mainstreamed who can?

Although we didn't agree on everything, there was no doubt that his proposals and vision were made from his love of America

Mr. Pickens we promise that The Auto Channel will continue to fight your good fight, Rest in peace my friend, Rest in peace.

T. Boone Pickens

Outspoken oil billionaire T. Boone Pickens wowed the hundreds of attendees at yesterday's General Session meeting at the 2008 Alternative Fuels and Vehicles Conference and Expo in Las Vegas. Joined on stage by Andrew Littlefair, president and CEO of Clean Energy Fuels Corporation, Pickens delivered a keynote presentation that was insightful, humorous and highly provocative.

Pickens talked about America’s urgent need to get away from foreign oil and the sending of $600 billion to "A few friends and a hell of a bunch of enemies." and the opportunity that exists in turning to natural gas to solve the country’s immediate gasoline crisis. Pickens pointed out natural gas’ benefits of being substantially lower in harmful emissions than gasoline, its plentiful supply, and its significantly lower cost to consumers.

Pickens predicted that gasoline prices will continue to rise and that diesel fuel will never again be cheaper than gasoline.

"She (Hillary Clinton) has no idea about what she's talking about."
Pickens was highly critical of the political pandering that is going on with the three current presidential candidates, and by the irresponsible remarks made by them to voters (especially by Hillary Clinton, that she will reduce the price of gasoline to $60 per barrel).

Pickens also talked about the need to make use of wind and solar power, and his own company’s recent $2 billion purchase of General Electric wind generators that are expected to produce 4,000 megawatts of electricity (“equivalent to two nuclear generators”).

At the conclusion of his and Littlefair’s formal onstage presentation, Pickens joined about a dozens journalists in an impromptu Q&A session that yielded additional salacious comments and humorous observations.
