CrossRoads RV is a brand of Thor Industries, Inc. It’s a surprise to many that Thor Industries is the largest RV manufacturer in the U.S. But only a very few of those many RV models have the name “Thor” on their sides. Instead, Thor is the corporate owner of many well-known RV brands, including the venerable Airstream, the most recognized name in the industry. Thor Industries, Inc., was founded on August 29, 1980, when Wade F. B. Thompson and Peter B. Orthwein, who created the name "Thor" by combining the first two letters of each entrepreneur's name.

Over the years, Thor Industries purchased the Canadian company, General Coach, and created Thor America. In 1991, Thor acquired Dutchmen, now one of the largest brands of conventional and fifth-wheel travel trailers in the world. Four Winds International, manufacturer of class A and C motorhomes, was acquired in 1992. Komfort, a maker of fifth-wheel and conventional travel trailers, and Skamper, a builder of folding camping trailers, became members of the Thor corporation in 1995. Thor is also the largest mid-size bus manufacturer, having acquired Goshen Coach in 2005.

CrossRoads was created in 1996 and focuses on several lines of travel trailers, fifth-wheel trailers and SURV trailers. Headquartered in Topeka, Indiana, CrossRoads have 5 plant locations and employ more than 650 people.

Thor is a public company, listed on the NY Stock Exchange as THO. With all its branches and subsidiaries, Thor employs more than 7,000 people, and is headquartered in Ohio. Its various divisions and manufacturing facilities are located throughout the U.S. and Canada.
